Iraq’s Election is a Delusion Project, Which Must be Boycotted and Defeated

In order to push ahead their common planes, impose reactionary religious- ethnocentric state and government on people of Iraq and sustain the course of events which has pushed the Iraqi society into the unfolding dark scenario and turned it to a ground for a terrorist race between America and political Islam, the USA and the pro-USA Islamic and ethnocentric forces seek to organize a misleading and beguiling play under the name of elections.

Generally free elections can be a field for the masses of people to struggle for their demands and objectives. However the operation due to be organized in Iraq is beguiling and lacks the basic standards of the elections. As it feels responsible to give an opportunity to the masses and political forces to intervene in running their own affairs amid this dark scenario, the Worker-communist Party of Iraq, despite its clarity on the true essence of this project, posed its views for conducting elections in Iraq where people would be able to decide the regime in Iraq freely and consciously. However the parties which stand behind this play and due to their political goals were unwilling to listen to our proposal and to meet the requirements of a free and conscious intervention by the people in Iraq.

Since the unconditional and unlimited political freedom is not guaranteed for all parties to enable the masses of people to know their policies and alternatives, since all parties participating in the proposed elections do not have equal opportunities and facilities including access to media to address the masses and since there has been no enough time for the parties involved to advocate and tell people about their policies and projects in a free and stable climate. There will be no opportunity before the people to vote for their alternative consciously and after being well informed. In contrast, the reactionary Islamic and ethnocentric forces allied with America will push the masses eye-folded into the proposed process and will obtain their consent for  an alternative which is already decided to be imposed on them.

Since there is no guarantee that the masses will be able to cast their votes freely for the their own alternative away from the threats of the religious and ethnocentric militia and since the measures necessary for free elections protected from being rigged are not secured as they are not supervised by a party neutral on the current conflicts in Iraq, this process can not be protected against the violations of different groups. Therefore whatever the result of this process is going to be, it will not represent the masses. Amid these dangerous conditions and total lack of security any play produced under the name of election will be nothing but a farce.

Finally, with the issue of people in the Iraqi Kurdistan as a historical and complex political issue remaining suspended and since the people of Kurdistan have never been given the opportunity through a free referendum to decide whether they want to stay within Iraq or separate and build an independent state and thus this issue is been bypassed and is assumed that compulsory annexation of Kurdistan and forcing these people to give up this basic right under threats is the solution, the participation of people in Kurdistan in this process is legitimizing this compulsory annexation.

The parties, which stand behind this show neither intend to conduct a free elections nor they are ready to accept the results of a free election. All their planes and objectives are to add a kind of legitimacy through whatever plot on their reactionary alternative to demonstrate somehow that the Iraqi people support this alternative. If this was not the intention nobody could have denied the fact that the ground and circumstances necessary for holding an election in Iraq in current time are not there. In addition to all the factors that we mentioned the absence of minimum level of security for the masses to participate in election by itself reveals that the so-called election is a hoax and beguiling project.

This asserts the fact that the issue of regime and government in the Iraqi society especially during current circumstances will not be resolved through elections. Resolving this issue require the coming to the fore of the masses of people around a revolutionary communist alternative to clean up the society from forces of the dark scenario and handing the rule and administration to the masses themselves.

The freedom-loving masses!

We call you not to participate in this play and do not let these forces to use your consent to impose their reactionary alternative on the society. The endeavor of these parties whether through the so-called election or by force is to impose a reactionary religious-ethnocentric-clan puppet state, which sharply contradicts with all the demands, aspirations of the freedom loving and equality-seeking people in Iraq. These elections must be boycotted and moreover they must be thwarted, as they are a plan to break the willpower of the people. We call on you not to participate in these elections. Boycott them and do not be partners in the political project of any of the two poles of this terrorist conflict. Mobilize your force to thwart this hoax and beguiling play and to reclaim the authority from the forces of dark scenario and rebuild the willpower of the masses along with the Worker-communist Party. Organize and unite your ranks around the Worker-communist Party of Iraq to build a secular and non ethnocentric government based on the will of the people and which meets the basic and urgent demands of the society like security, bread, freedom and rebuilding the civility.
