A louder  “NO” to the Islamic and ethnocentric alternatives on December 15!

To the oppressed and freedom seeking masses of people in Iraq!

During the last two and a half years the masses of people in Iraq experienced first hand all the consecutive episodes of the scenario presented by the USA and its local allies. The price paid has been enormous, as tens of thousands of people have been killed and injured and the civil society and the pillars of social life have been destroyed. The society is engulfed by war, terrorism, lack of security and sectarian and ethnic clashes. Now it is quite evident that the so-called “ liberation of Iraq” and the following policies have been a design to destroy a society of 25 million, and push it into the darkest scenarios for the sake of the USA interests, and to impose the ethnocentric and Islamic forces as rulers on this country.

During these two and a half years, various forms of the rule and administration of America and its puppet Islamic and ethnocentric governments have been experienced by people. All the promises and pledges have been put to the test. They have created huge tumult, bombarded people with false propaganda and lies on large scale and organized festivals and celebration ceremonies for each episode of this unfolding scenario. Every time they pledged to meet people’s aspirations and demands, however it has become clear that the process called liberation of Iraq, implementing “democracy” and meeting demands of the Iraqi masses has in reality been pushing the society into endless disasters and tragedies created by war, terrorism, reaction, lack of security, abstract poverty and deprivation.

During 2005 two deceitful shows were organized under the name of election and referendum on constitution. With each show the society was bombarded with false propaganda, and lies but the result has been intensifying lack of security, starvation, miseries and deprivation of the basic rights for the vast majority. Instead of the freedom promised the most basic civil and political freedoms have been stamped upon. Instead of security the society is engulfed in terrorism and bloodshed. Instead of prosperity they have stopped the rations previously distributed though food for oil program and plundered the wealth and avenues of the country.

In order to mobilize the masses of people behind their own designs to secure their share in power, they put the demands of people in reactionary sectarian and ethnocentric frameworks. They had launched a staunch sectarian and fascist Arab, Kurdish, and Torkoman propaganda. They had created deep divisions among the masses of people on these outdated ideologies. They pushed some of the masses by deception and under various kinds of threat to the polls aimed to divide the power. They took leaders of political Islam and Kurdish and Arab nationalist movements to power. Within short time they all sat the test and proved practically that none of them represents in any way the demands and aspirations of the masses and there is a huge contradiction between their rule and  people’s goals and aspirations. They have quickly disappointed wide segments of voters who participated in the elections and referendum held this year.

Now for the third time during this year they want to run another show under the name of elections. They have started propaganda on large scale. For the third time they want to humiliate the masses and manipulate their will. The last two experience have at least proved the fact that what they call elections have nothing to do with real elections. The participation of the masses has no effect on their results. What they called election is a play to divide the power and determine the share of each sectarian and ethnocentric party in the power. Violence, armed militia, terrorism and rigging results play a major role to obtain a bigger share in these elections. They talk about elections while there is no existence for political freedom and freedom of voting. Armed militias not only prevent their opponents from carrying out political activity and propaganda but they launch terrorist operations and assassinations where they control. With existence of large numbers of occupation forces and the armed sectarian and ethnocentric militias like Badr militia, Kurdish Peshmarga, the Iranian revolutionary guards and tens of other armed groups any talk about elections and resorting to “people’s opinion” is nonsense and utter deception.

The freedom-loving masses should stand with determination against this farce and the attempt to decide their future and neglect their will. The past experiences left no doubt that putting hope on these deceitful shows will only result in regret, growing lack of security, starvation, deprivation of basic rights, miseries, poverty and dark future. Whoever was deceived by the propaganda of the so-called liberation of Iraq can now see how the most basic freedoms are stamped upon. Those, who were deceived by the sectarian Sunni and Shiite propaganda, can now see the real hell that has been created and the mass killings perpetrated in the war on power by Sunni and Shiite Islamists. Those who were sent to polls in the name of “ Kurds’ share in power “ can now see how the waves of protests against the corruption and the authority of those who posed as representatives of Kurds spread all over Kurdistan.

Moreover nothing can be expected of these forces and their shows. None of these forces represents in anyway the demands and aspirations of the masses of people. All these forces are created by the occupation and represent reaction, lack of security, war, sectarian and ethnic divisions and are forces of dark scenario. They are forces hostile to freedom and they run secret prisons, torture cells and apparatus of terrorism. They are all opposed to freedom, secularism, civil society, and basic rights of the masses in particular workers, women and youth. Their elections are plays to add false legitimacy on illegitimate authority and to impose themselves and their platforms on the society.

The freedom seeking masses; workers, women, and the youth!

You, who demand freedom, equality and secularism, protest the lack of security, starvation, misery, deprivation, war, and reactionary laws and norms. And suffer at the hands of militias and ongoing oppression, coercion and discrimination do not participate in the show organized to install the forces, which stand behind all these hardships rulers on the society. Do not participate in the farce called elections, which aims to add false legitimacy on all this deprivation and misery. In order to stand up to the attempts to perpetuate and deepen these tragic conditions and to foil this farce and thwart the rule of these forces, the masses of people should united and come to the fore. On October 15 the freedom-seeking masses in Iraq and Kurdistan said huge “no” to the fascist constitution presented by these forces and thus shacked their rule and undermined their reactionary role. Lets say a louder “ no” to the election on December 15 and make it another step in this direction. Ending this tragedy and building a bright future rely on dismissing the American forces and curbing the role of Islamic and ethnocentric groups. This is the real field for the struggle of the freedom-loving people toward building a brighter future.
