To/ Mr. Ambassador of the USA in
Dear Sir,
Concerning the reconstruction of Iraqi
government, neither the USA administration
in general nor the recent Baker-Hamilton
report has ever recognised the Kurdistan
people’s will in determining their future.
While Kurdistan has become practically
independent with its own political,
economical and social characteristics about
the last two decades, the USA formal policy
has been to annex Kurdistan to Iraq.
We protest against this policy of the USA
government. Instead of attaching Kurdistan
to Iraq, we ask you to let Kurdistan people
have a free referendum in which they can
decide either to stay within Iraq being
equal citizens (only guaranteed in a secular
non ethnocentric state) or forming an
independent state. Thus, USA would respect
the people’s will.
Looking forward to your formal answer.
