We
have been informed by the (Solidarity
Campaign with the Worker’s Movement in
Egypt) and (the
Centre for Trade Union and
Workers’ Services in Egypt) that your
administration had prevented Mahmud Abdul-Nasir
the leader of the Independent Syndicate of
the Company and Mohammed Hassan a member of
the Union’s Executive Committee to enter the
factory.
You used armed men and thugs
from tribes living nearby to oppress the
workers and confront the workers’ activists
and trade unionists. The
workers in your factory
have been living in terror for about one
week.
We, from the Worker communist
Party of Iraq/ Abroad Organisation, strongly
condemn that coward action
against the workers and workers’ activists.
We
ask you to respect the rights of workers in
freedom of assemblies, general meeting,
organizing in unions and syndicates, and
decent life and work conditions.
