Political Islam is a reactionary movement in this era. In terms of its social content and the sociopolitical issues, which concern it, the roots of political Islam exist in contemporary society.  It is a general title for the movement, which regards Islam as the primary means for a right-wing reorganization of the ruling class. It aims to bring to power the most reactionary models of government, which is hostile to human beings, freedoms and left forces in society.  On this basis, political Islam competes with other bourgeois movements for its share of capitalist power internationally. In Arab countries and the Middle East, political Islam is one of the alternatives of the right-wing current in society aims to restructure bourgeois power in opposition to the left and the working class.

Terrorism is a principle pillar of the strategy of political Islam to seize power. Political oppression, violence, and terrorism are the basis of its activity and its way of control. Killing, execution, beheading, torture and arrogance are its main methods of operation against humanity and its aspirations for freedom. The presence of political Islam in any region is the source of reaction, tragedies, terror and a blind antagonism to freedom and the civil rights of the masses in general and women in particular. It restricts any role by and involvement of the masses in political power. It is behind the most reactionary, brutal, anti-human and dividing norms and traditions.

Political Islam has now become a danger for society on a global scale and puts the world in danger of terrorist threats. The history of political Islam acting against humanity in countries like Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, Algeria and Palestine includes a monstrous record of massacres and brutal crimes.

Women are the first victims of the influence and rule of political Islam. Extremely reactionary patriarchal laws, beheadings, stonings, executions, compulsory veiling and the violation of the most basic of women’s rights are the outcomes of its influence and rule everywhere. This movement controls the society by controlling women and violating their rights.

Political Islam grows and reproduces itself by exploiting the Palestine question and the West’s one-sided and unwavering support for Israel and maintaining the sanctions on the masses of Iraq.

The Islamic Republic of Iran through 23 years of its rule has been the main reason behind the emergence and development of the groups and gangs of political Islam in the region and it was a source of threat, terror and oppression against all liberation movements and the masses.

Worker Communism struggles against political Islam as a faith, an ideology and a set of reactionary commands and laws, which determine how humans think and live. Although the policy of increasing the awareness of the masses and exposing religious superstitions is an ongoing activity for Worker Communism, today it faces political Islam as a reactionary political movement antagonistic to human beings, women’s rights, civilization and communism and seeks to seize power.  This reality puts communist movement before a serious task and demands that it struggles non-stop against the role of political Islam and Islamic groups.

The struggle against political Islam and exposing its reactionary and anti-human ideological and political bases is an important aspect of the struggle of Worker Communist Party.

The Worker Communist Party strives to mobilize the masses against this political Islam. The Worker Communist Party also exposes all terrorist, anti-human and anti- freedom actions of Islamists and tries to prevent their activity and bring them to justice. The Worker Communist Party of Iraq supports and cooperates with the freedom- loving masses in Iran and the Worker Communist Party of Iran in their struggle to overthrow the Islamic Republic of Iran. This struggle is now on the verge of a great explosion against Islam and Islamic Republic. Overthrowing the Islamic Republic will decisively defeat Political Islam in the whole Middle East. The Worker Communist Party of Iraq strongly supports the struggle of all secular, and freedom loving forces and movements against political Islam by organizing and leading the protest of the masses against this current.

The Islamic groups and thugs in Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan are the source of terrorism, insecurity, tragedies and fear for the masses. The Worker Communist Party of Iraq struggles to obstruct their attempts to seize power and insist on preventing their activity and bringing them to justice based on their terrorist activities.
